Windhoek — New Kid on the block M-C Ray is slowly making his mark on the Hip Hop Scene.
The young rapper says he is heading for the top, and to put his money where his mouth is, he claims to be the future of the Hip hop era and a name to be reckoned with considering the titles he holds, which include Record producer and co-owner of Slash Records with fellow co – owner DVD.
With his mix tape yet to drop, titled You Made Me Do It Volume 1, he is sure that it will make waves. According to M-C – Ray, the album takes on an inspirational note, looking at both the negative and positive aspects of our daily lives. ” Anything that is negative inspires me to stay away from it . I am inspired by everything,” he says.
He adds that the mix tape will be making its ways to fans beginning August.
“XoXo ( high school love), was my first single, and since it has hit the airwaves it has been well received,” he says.
The rapper assures that the album is nothing short of the Hip Hop lyrics that he is known for but goes the extra mile to fuse with various other genres.
” I have included other genres that I feel blend well with Hip Hop. The music is also future music, which is for the youth and old,” he assures.
He however takes time to explain that for now we will be getting a feel for his type of music, while waiting on the last preparations to be done on the mix-tape which includes being published.
” I am done with the second single titled, Cool Kids , featuring Kanibal,” he shares. Collaborating artists include Run NAMS, Tesh, J-Black, DVD, Mapps, amongst others.
” Everyone on my mix tape in one way or the other , we grew up together and we have been making use of each other positively to elevate as individual artists in the music scene, and so at the end of the day these are the people that I wanted to work with,” he says.
With much high hopes M-C- Ray adds that he aims taking the Music scene to greater heights, way beyond the Namibian borders, with music that is relevant to the daily lives of the masses while not forgetting where he comes from.
